Magamba Network and Operation Dagsværk (Denmark) are calling on young changemakers to apply for the HeadSpace Residency. The 17-week, full-time youth leader residency will run from 17 August to 10 December 2026.
The residency is a core pillar of the Mental Health Academy. The project kicked off in February 2026 to support youth-led action for mental well-being in Zimbabwe’s underserved urban communities.
Through this residency, Magamba Network and Operation Dagsværk are looking for community-minded young leaders. Applicants should be organised, collaborative, and ready to champion community-based mental health, advocacy, and youth participation.
Programme Snapshot
The HeadSpace Residency offers young leaders a deep dive into leadership, activism, and transnational exchange. Fellows will work 37 hours per week, mainly from Monday to Friday.
The journey begins with 3 weeks in Denmark. After that, fellows will spend 3 months on the ground in Zimbabwe.
In Zimbabwe, fellows will be based at Moto Republik in Harare. They will also take part in two shorter impact visits to Bulawayo.
Who Can Apply
This call is open to Zimbabwean applicants aged 18 to 30 with a good command of English.
Magamba Network and Operation Dagsværk want young people with a passion for youth-led development and advocacy. In addition, familiarity with Magamba Network’s work is an advantage. An understanding of youth-led governance is also an advantage.
Selected fellows must keep the momentum going after the programme ends. Therefore, they should be ready to volunteer with Magamba Network for at least 6 months after the residency.
