Moto Republik is Zimbabwe’s first creative hub.It is a space where a content creator can brain storm with a techie and an activist can connect with a rapper
Moto Republik is the first creative hub in Zimbabwe. Moto was created to respond to the need for space where young people could meet, collaborate and come up with big ideas to transform Zimbabwe.
The hub has become a hive of activity and a safe space for many vulnerable groups, including the LGBTQ+ community. The hub is also an incubation space for many innovative young startups and provides a co-working space that is home to over 50 content creators, artists, techies, creative entrepreneurs and activists.
Hundreds of young people pass through Moto Republik’s doors every month as part of the Hustlers Market monthly event, a platform for new artists, artisans, and craft makers to reach new markets.Moto Republik is also a member of the Creative South creative hub network. Creative South is a network of some of Africa’s most innovative creative hubs. Creative South exists to support alternative narratives, to grow new audiences, to amplify co- learning between hubs and to build new touring networks in the region. Members of Creative South include Moto Republik, Mafalala Museu, Anima, Modzi Arts, Gilbert’s House and Creatives Garage.
